💊Time Capsule

A memory capsule APP that allows you to collect your memories, travel back in time, and step into other one’s time rivers

Design Concept

We are trying to design an app that can help users to organize memories. We have found a phenomenon that many people have trouble storing memories. And during the user interview, we also found our user has some difficulty organizing memories with her family. She mentioned that her family has a shared google drive but no one is going to organize it.
So we come up with the idea of helping people to organize memories and create a lifelong database. Usually, we store memories using media like photography and videos, but in the app, we could also store other kinds of media such as 3d scanning. And our memories can be shared with other people like families or communities and create a form of group memories and get emotional support and a sense of belonging.
We also try to provide an immersive experience with the users using advanced technologies like VR and allow users to virtually enter the database and past environments. And this app also allows us to generate life movies and sell and purchase them in an NFT market, which gives users another motivation to continue using it.

  • The memory-sharing community can be converted into an NFT market: users who are willing to share memories that might resonate with the public could make profits from it

  • The emotional value of memory (or the forms that carry this memory) is transferred into commercial value

  • Every user creates value for this market; every memory that touches people becomes valuable

  • Create incentives for users to keep recording their memories through our APP

Example

Hypothetically, I recorded a 360 video of me landing on Mars as the first ever human being who did that.

I converted this video to NFT and many people are willing to buy it as they also find this historical moment extremely important and meaningful.

Future Improvement

Insights from user interviews:

01. Privacy is a huge concern!

What are the measures we need to take to protect our users’ privacy and data safety?

02. How to facilitate easier interactions to document and organize memories?

Users reported that they would only be willing to use our service when documenting their memories when it takes little effort and time
