Hi! I’m Charon Zhou 👋🏻

I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Information Science, Human-Computer Interaction Track @Cornell University (I’ll be graduating in Dec 2023, yay!🎉)

As a multidisciplinary UX designer, I have always devoted myself to making the world more inclusive and equitable through Human-Centered Design. Having experience in different fields of design, including visual design, interaction design, and 3D design, helps me think beyond the screen and explore creative solutions from different mediums and perspectives.

Exploring the field of user experience design not only gives me the happiness of helping people solve real-world problems but also makes me become a more humble, caring, and empathetic person.

My Design Journey

Combining the theoretical knowledge and design skills I have learned in college, I created some freelance projects and became a UX design intern at companies like Meituan and Envision Energy.

I’ve learned a lot while solving real-world problems. I found myself passionate and enjoyable working as a design intern, which made me more determined to become a full-time UI/UX designer.

2. Career Exploration

Graduating from University of California, Irvine with a double major in Digital Art and Economics has equipped me with good design aesthetics and analytical skills.

In college, I also took some Psychology and Sociology courses, which helped me to become a designer with a deeper understanding of human perception and social problems.

1. Multidisciplinary Background

While studying Human-Computer Interaction Design at Cornell University, I am actively engaged as a UX Research Assistant, focusing on important social issues such as Accessibility and Mental Health. Additionally, I work as a Teaching Research Specialist, mentoring students to foster their enthusiasm for a career in UX design.

Thanks to Cornell, I have been fortunate to collaborate with prominent companies like PepsiCo and Uber. Through conducting UX research, exploring innovative design solutions, and working closely with professionals from these esteemed companies, I have gained invaluable knowledge and expertise as a UX Designer.

My design journey continues…
